How to install KeysWalletWatch and create your first vault
Download the installer, get past SmartScreen if it appears, and run the five-step setup: your name, a master password, who the vault is for, and the recovery key.
Short answer: Run the installer (no administrator rights needed), open KeysWalletWatch and click Get Started. The setup asks for your name, a master password of at least 8 characters, and whether other people or developer secrets live in the vault, then shows your recovery key once. The whole thing takes about five minutes.

Download the installer
Download KeysWalletWatch for Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) from the download link on this site or on keyswalletwatch.com. It is one small .exe signed by Beckham Enterprises, LLC.

Run it, and get past SmartScreen if it appears
Double-click the file. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, check the publisher reads Beckham Enterprises, LLC, then click Run anyway. New releases can trigger this until Windows has seen enough downloads of them.

Click through the installer
It installs for your Windows account only, so no administrator password is asked for. Leave "Create a desktop shortcut" ticked if you want one, and finish with "Launch KeysWalletWatch now".

Start the setup
The first screen is Welcome to KeysWalletWatch. Click Get Started. (If you already have a vault on another PC, click "Already have a vault? Open it" instead — see the guide on adding a second PC.)

Set up your profile
Type Your Name. The Vault Name fills itself in as "<name>'s Vault"; change it if you like — it is the name shown on the vault selection screen. Pick Your Color, then Continue.

Create the master password
Type it under Master Password and again under Confirm Password. It must be at least 8 characters; the strength meter shows how long it would take to guess. There is no way to reset it, so choose one you will remember and consider writing it down somewhere safe. Continue.

Say who the vault is for
On "Who is this vault for?" leave both boxes off if it is just you. Tick "Other people's logins live here too" to get an Owners list for family, staff or a company, and "I'm a developer" for API keys, secrets, .env files and projects. Both can be changed later in Settings → General. Click Create Vault.

Save the recovery key
Your Recovery Key appears once, in the form KWWRK-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Click Print Recovery Key (best) or Copy to Clipboard, tick "I have saved my recovery key in a safe place", then Continue to Vault.
Worth knowing
- The vault is one encrypted file on this PC, in %APPDATA%\com.keyswalletwatch.app. Nothing is uploaded unless you turn on sync.
- Setup switches on sensible security checks for you: flag passwords older than 90 days, flag a password used on 2 or more entries, and remind you to run a breach check every 3 months. Change them in Settings → Security.
- A new install lets you add and edit for 30 days before it asks for a key. Start the free trial or enter a license from Settings → License — see the trial and license guide.
Questions
- Does KeysWalletWatch need administrator rights to install?
- No. The installer puts it in your own Windows account and changes nothing else on the PC.
- Why does Windows SmartScreen warn about the installer?
- SmartScreen warns about files it has not seen many times yet, even when they are signed. Click More info, confirm the publisher is Beckham Enterprises, LLC, and choose Run anyway.
- Can I use it on a Mac or a phone?
- Not yet. KeysWalletWatch is a Windows desktop app today; there is no phone app or browser extension.
