How to make bin, shelf and location labels
A 3" × 1" location label with the code big and a matching barcode — then the whole stockroom in one go from a spreadsheet.
Steps

Start a 3" × 1" label
New label → Roll / thermal → 3x1.

Put the code big on the left
Add a bold text item with the location code, large enough to read from the aisle, and a smaller description line under it.

Add the same code as a barcode
Add a barcode on the right half with the same value, and leave the readable version printed underneath for anyone counting by hand.

Turn the code into a field
Replace the code with a field in curly brackets — {Location} — in both the text and the barcode value.

Point the Print window at a spreadsheet
Press Print, then Choose a CSV… and pick a file with a Location column and one row per bin. LabelVault reports how many rows it found and which fields it is filling.

Check a few rows, then print
Step through the preview with the arrows to check a couple of rows, then press Print. You get one label per row, barcodes and all.

Print black and white
Solid black and white gives the sharpest bars. If the labels live somewhere they will get knocked, buy a roll with a stronger adhesive — the design is the easy part.
Questions
- What does the CSV need to look like?
- A header row with the column names, then one row per label. Export straight from Excel or Google Sheets. Column names are matched to {Field} tokens case-insensitively.
- Can a merge field go inside a barcode?
- Yes. Fields work in text, barcode and QR code values, and in table cells.
