How to make a QC release label

A 2" × 1" QC label: the status word big and inverted, a date that prints itself, and room for initials in pen.

Steps

Start a 2" × 1" label

New label → Roll / thermal → 2x1.
Put the status word first and biggest

Released, passed or approved, centred and bold. Turn on White text on black if you want it unmissable on a shelf of boxes.
Add "BY/DATE:" underneath

A small bold line, then a second line for the initials.
Make the date print itself

On the initials line, press Auto date field. It inserts {date}, which prints the current date every time — nobody has to remember to change it.
Or freeze the date

If your process needs the date fixed at the moment the label was made — a certificate rather than a stamp — press Today as text instead.
Leave room for initials in pen

Add a Line near the bottom. It is low-tech and it is what makes somebody accountable.
